Family Therapy

  • Having a family and being a part of one is a blessing. Unfortunately, families often develop unhealthy ways of communicating and relating to each other. Families also experience grief, loss, trauma, addiction, dysfunction, and many other problems. But there is a way to overcome these issues. Family therapy offers us the opportunity to challenge and change recurring patterns of pain and dysfunction.
  • Through clinical approaches to unhealthy roles and dynamics, with Progress to Peace Counseling families can change the destructive and painful ways we relate to one another. By setting and enforcing healthy boundaries, we can create and put into practice better ways to talk to one another and understand each other much better.
  • We have clinicians experienced in joining families in difficult places, addressing the tough issues and walking through painful change with all kinds of families.
  • Our compassionate therapists specialize in addressing family dynamics, communication patterns, and relationship challenges to foster understanding and resilience. Whether you’re facing conflicts, transitions, or seeking to strengthen family bonds, our tailored approach supports each member in finding their voice and fostering positive change.

If you’re looking to manage and overcome your depression, our experienced clinicians are here to help.

Whether you are experiencing mild, short term depression or more serious, long term depression, we work with you to tailor a treatment plan to your specific needs.

We will complete a comprehensive assessment to better understand your unique experience with depression and its impact on your mental health. Then we’ll work together to complete a plan with your own specific goals, which helps create a vision of health and wellness, helps us better track and measure progress, and also keeps us accountable and focused.

Using effective approaches to counseling, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, we will start to address what is not working in your life and make change happen.

You will begin to see your quality of life get better and better.

Therapy for Trauma

  • When we experience a life threatening or terrifying event, we often experience emotional and physical responses to what has happened. It is normal to experience fatigue, irritability, “zoning out” or numbing out, sadness, and jitteriness.
  • When these responses continue over time and we are unable to effectively manage them, our day to day lives can be extremely difficult. If these symptoms worsen, life can become almost impossible to manage. Thankfully, there are ways to treat the effects of trauma.
  • Meet the dedicated professionals who make up our team. From licensed psychologists and therapists to psychiatric nurse practitioners and art therapists, our diverse team brings a wealth of expertise and compassion to our practice.
  • Our experienced clinicians will use various therapeutic approaches including trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to guide you through processing and recovering from traumatic experiences.

Your experience with anxiety is unique; it may manifest in physical and/or emotional symptoms, and can range from more mild experiences to severe panic attacks.

We use a variety of approaches to treating anxiety, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness.
